We’ve been slogging through the winter months lately. I never thought I had a preference for any particular season until I was left inside with a young child for months on end. As the weeks pass by, we’ve been making steady progress with DJ’s school work. Not much new to highlight in a post, but building slowly on what he already knows.  As DJ has been working through the Addition Tables booklet I could tell that he was rather frustrated in his inability to write several of his numbers well. It has occurred to me with all of our travels that I haven’t written much about DJ’s math work. When we first started the sequence, it felt very linear – one activity had to be mastered before the next would make sense. Well, it’s unofficially official – DJ has started pre-kindergarten. Although he is beginning his third year of Montessori at home and he will be 5 years old in just over a month, with a November birthday he would not be able to start public school Kindergarten until next year.
